Move against Cancer is a Charity that was set up in 2016 by Gemma Hillier Moses to support youngsters and anyone impacted by Cancer to get more physically active.
We currently have three main branches to the Charity’s work:
An 8 week online exercise program with Cancer Rehabilitation exercise specialists for youngsters aged 13-30 years who are living with or recuperating from cancer.
A 5k Your Way Move against Cancer program that is nationwide to encourage individuals impacted by Cancer to walk, jog, run or cheer together in local parks and outdoor spaces, once a month to encourage individuals to move more.
The provision of a library of empowering and informative resources, including workshops, videos, podcasts and online Move your way exercise sessions to encourage individuals to become more active and as a result improve their quality of life.
We are looking for physically active volunteers to assist us in setting up and running more 5k Your Way groups across the country. Volunteers need to be active, energetic, enthusiastic, motivated, trustworthy and reliable and have an empathy and caring for helping people impacted by Cancer. In return for your time you will gain new skills, work alongside some amazing volunteers, become part of a fantastic organisation and have the fulfilment and joy of knowing that you are really making a difference in peoples lives.
