Knightthorpe Methodist Church

Overview:

We are a church in the Loughborough Methodist Circuit and see ourselves as ‘a family of friends’ as much as a congregation. We have been running a community engagement project for the past two years, aiming to connect with anyone in the local community via a broad range of activities, e.g. repair cafe, open-door parties, craft workshops etc. A key highlight is our Community Garden, in collaboration with Incredible Edible Loughborough whose vision is to create kind, confident and connected communities through the power of food. Thanks to the time and efforts of our wonderful volunteers, we have turned our front lawn into a community growing space where everyone is welcome to enjoy gardening for wellbeing and share in the produce.

We are calling for volunteers in various positions:
1. Anyone who enjoys gardening and growing healthy food and friendship to help grow and maintain our Community Garden, primarily on designated Wednesday afternoons 2pm to 4pm (for details please see our Facebook page or contact us)
2. Anyone with repair skills to help as volunteer repairer at our Repair Café (which is part of our Summer Party) on 5 July from 2pm to 4pm (or anytime in the slot)
3. Anyone with other skills (e.g. craft, cooking etc) to help at our Summer Party on 5 July from 2pm to 4pm (or anytime in the slot)
4. Anyone with craft skills who would like to give free-of-charge craft workshops to the local community
