Allexton Community Nursery CIC is a vibrant, inclusive early years setting located in Leicester, proudly supporting children and families from all walks of life since 2001. As a Community Interest Company (CIC), we are deeply rooted in our local community and dedicated to giving every child the best possible start in life, regardless of their background or circumstances.
We provide high-quality childcare and education for children aged 0–5, operating year-round from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. With six spacious rooms across one level—two baby rooms, two toddler rooms, and two preschool rooms—our setting is carefully designed to meet the developmental needs of each age group and where children can explore, learn, and grow through outdoor play.
At Allexton, we are proud to welcome 168 children, including 23 with identified special educational needs or disabilities. We are an award-winning setting recognised for our inclusive practice, and we are committed to meeting the needs of all children through tailored support, close collaboration with external professionals, and a highly experienced SENCO with over 20 years of experience.
Our passionate team of 30 qualified staff bring a wide range of expertise, underpinned by extensive training in safeguarding, trauma, domestic abuse, mental health, and other key areas. We work closely with children known to social care and family support services, including those affected by poverty, abuse, bereavement, imprisonment, housing difficulties, and additional vulnerabilities.
We also provide holiday care for families, and we have a a small food bank .
