We are a Community Fridge which serves the Braunstone area. The community fridge was set up in partnership between The Winstanley School and Blaby District Council. We ran as a trial in the summer term, and are relaunching as a permanent project in September. The project is jointly aimed at preventing food waste and helping ease food poverty.
We are open from 1.30 – 3.00 every Friday during school term time, from the Family hub onsite at the Winstanley School.
We need volunteers to help with the food collection on a Thursday lunch time. This involves collecting food from Aldi Blaby and bringing it to the Winstanley School.
We also need volunteers to help run the community fridge during opening hours.
