It’s often the simple things in life that matter most. Unfortunately, it’s the simple things in life that are most often taken for granted. Further, their contribution to social, physical and mental well being is often overlooked.
A chat, meeting with like-minded people, an arm around your shoulder just to reassure you that everything’s going to be OK, taking part in an activity or game, an opportunity to learn something new, a laugh and a joke, just knowing there’s someone there for you if you need them, being part of a community, getting out of the four walls you’re used to seeing day in day out and experiencing different surroundings…all simple things…but also things that aren’t easily accessible for anyone who is lonely, disabled, vulnerable, isolated, unwell or disadvantaged.
The main focus of the Foundation’s work is to ease loneliness and suffering and to offer comfort and support to the elderly and adults of all ages with disabilities, throughout the Leicestershire area.
