Air Cadets ( 2502 Hamilton squadron )

Overview:

The RAF Air Cadets offer young people exciting opportunities for personal and professional development. We’re an inclusive organisation that cares about helping young people reach their potential.
Being an Air Cadet improves career and employment prospects and also often helps with performance at school. It’s also a lot of fun.
We always seek to encourage the spirit of adventure and develop qualities of leadership and good citizenship. That includes being able to communicate clearly, work as a member of a team, enhance social skills and accept diversity.
2502 squadron meet twice a week on Mondays and Thursday from 7pm to 9.30 pm
There are currently 64 cadets between the ages of 12 and 18 following activities delivered by 12 civilian instructors .
As they complete the training and qualifications, the skills and experience they gain will benefit whatever career path they choose, and as they progress, they earn badges to show their development.
The close relationships with the Royal Air Force and other partners provide unique opportunities to help them to reach their full potential. They are able to gain and improve key life skills such as confidence, communication, physical and mental wellbeing, teamwork, and leadership.
Activities include first aid, fieldcraft, radio operator and cyber awareness, drone flying, aviation and gliding, air traffic control and flight simulation, camping, Duke of Edinburgh awards, shooting, drill and marching and sports.
