Vikings of Middle England is a Living History society where our volunteers learn about Viking-Age history, develop heritage crafts and spectacular performance skills, and share those by teaching and entertaining audiences across the UK. Vikings of Middle England meet Weekly in Leicester, either to have talks and demonstrations on history, research techniques, or how to make reproduction historical artefacts, or to practice our amazing Viking Combat that we display up and down the country. So whether you want to learn how to make Viking clothes, jewellery or other objects, or to find out who’s the best warrior with sword and shield – there’s something for everyone.
Looking for volunteers aged 16+
Our combat system scales for most fitness levels and body types, but participants with physical health conditions are advised to consult with their GP or physical therapist. All equipment provided for beginners.
